Our annual early spring getaway was to Key West this year.  The weather was WONDERFUL.  But it seems lately our trips are not free of some type of complication.  I was not feeling well when we left home and was feeling poorly for most of the trip.  I did spend on entire day in the hotel room in bed.  Thank goodness for my new laptop and wireless internet or I would have gone crazy.

Took loads of fun pictures and I have uploaded some of them to my Flickr account.

I hate to see the summer end however the warm weather has hung on and on creating some unusual weather events. But soon I must force myself out into the cold once again, to expand my portfolio to include more winter shots. I am looking forward to planning our spring get-away just the same!

It seems my eyes have become so trained to see details in almost everything. I keep my cameras with me at all times and find myself late for almost everything because I cannot possibly pass up a photo opportunity.

Another dreadfully snowy winter is coming to an end. We made our usual trip to Florida a few weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed the warmth! Key West is as lovely as ever with it's shocking pink bougainvillea cascading from trellises and climbing concrete walls. We only witnessed one sunset on account of rain and huge cruise ships that blocked the view. The island still has a large population of chickens and roosters that live in the streets. What fun to hear roosters crowing and see mama chickens hustling their broods through traffic. But unfortunately, not everyone on the island shares the enthusiasm for these feral birds. Evidently, the chickens have gotten out of control causing a real conflict among island inhabitants. We did visit a small store in support of the chickens and their cause and had a great time. Please do check out their website and read about their plight.

It's not hard to guess that winter is not my favorite time of year but once again I did force myself out into the weather to expand my portfolio to include more seasonal photos. I was commissioned to photograph a house for a realtor friend and she was pleased with the job. The photo included an old farm house with adjacent barns. It was snowing that day and the large maple trees in the front had sap buckets hanging. A very nice country scene if I do say so myself!

So let me know how you feel about my work. Just click the link below. I hope to be able to spend some time updating my photos. Although these are some of my favorite shots, it is time for something new.
